Kolla här! Som första svenska motortidning satsar TopGear på att sätta ett modejobb på omslaget. Istället för någon ny bilmodell hittar vi den folkkäre fotbollsspelaren Anton Hysén iklädd höstens hetaste racingmode. Vi bad tidningens chefredaktör Joakim Dyredand svara på tre snabba.
Anton Hysén som omslagsmodell – hur gick det till?
“Tja, det var väl ett redaktionsmöte där det ena ledde till det andra. Kriterierna var folklig, populär och bildskön person. Där passar Anton in mycket bra. Vi väljer att inte göra en sak av hans läggning, det får andra ägna sig åt. Anton är en härlig person, punkt slut.”
Är det ett medveten steg mot en bredare biltidning?
“Det är ett mycket medvetet steg. Vi har märkt att vi har en stor andel kvinnliga läsare, även bilprogrammet TopGear har många kvinnliga tittare. Så att ta in mer mode, vi har alltid haft minst fyra sidor med prylar och pinaler, lär bli uppskattat. Vi är inte en nördig biltidning, vi gillar bilar och skriver om bilar på ett humoristiskt och lite tokigt vis.”
