Det blev inget OS för David Beckham. Han blev aldrig uttagen i det lag som representerade de brittiska öarna i fotbollsturneringen. Men på något underligt sätt blev Beckham ändå den starkast lysande brittiska profilen under spelen. Det räckte med att han, i ett kort tv-klipp under OS-invigningen, iklädd smoking, styrde en speedboat på Themsen. “Not on the team, still in the game” som puffen lyder på omslaget till brittiska Esquire.
Vill man haka på bakom kulisserna på plåtningen – som ägde rum på en ranch utanför Los Angeles – ska man bege sig till Esquires hemsida. Där åker Beckham (som bara blir stiligare och stiligare för varje år) dirt bike, grillar t-benstekar och kisar i solen. Själva intervjun hittar du självklart i numret som finns ute i butik nu.
